(Methods of Determining Hazardous Substances 100)
On the
1st May 2002 the Health and Safety Commission proposes to implement an
amendment to the current Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations 1987.
The aim of the new regulation, MDHS 100, is to ensure that every
commercial and public occupied property holds an on-site Asbestos
Register by 1st May 2004.
In
order to implement the new requirements
you will need to produce an asbestos register. To compile the
register you will need to conduct a physical and analytical survey which
identifies and records the wide variety of potential asbestos sources
present on your property.
